America Divided
And Then Rome Fell

America is a country that was meant to stand as a symbol of freedom
and democracy to the rest of the world. Now we are entering into a
dark period in the history of our nation. More and more Americans
are beginning to lose what little faith they had in the country and its
government. The racial differences are inevitable, but the real
dividing line is and always has been money. The rich against the
poor, the haves in a struggle against the have-nots. Most social issues
are simply facades for the fact that the class system in America is
growing with each generation. With the countries number of enemies
constantly rising. The time is going to come when loyalties will be
tested. Though it may come as a shock to many there are people in
this country who feel so neglected and betrayed that if there were
some invasion or political coup de tat they would welcome the
change openly. That I believe is where this country will reach its ruin.

Every major empire in the world has fell because of inner conflict.
Rome was not only the worlds greatest empire, but the center of
modern culture at that time. Yet after many attacks and raids from
outside sources, the citizens simply gave up the dream of happiness
there and moved on and then Rome fell. Hopefully this country will
realize the path that it is going down and try and turn itself around.
With a major recession on the verge, the economic gap is only going
to grow. With tensions over immigration the social ties in this country
are almost non existent. Take the average fourth or fifth generation
minority who’s great-great grand parents were impoverished. Flash
forward 100 years and they are in the same if not worse position as
their ancestors would they be as inclined to risk there lives protecting
this country? Would they care if this country became communist?

In order for this union to stand changes will need to be made.
Changes that will rock the foundations of a country that was founded
on the concept of freedom, but built on the backs of slaves. We will
need to look at each other with blind eyes. We need to pick leaders
that truly have the best intentions of the country as a whole instead of
leaders the serve political parties. The real questions are if this
country is willing to make the changes that are needed? And even if
we do is it already too late?
